View the report Black History Month The theme for this year’s celebration is “For the Culture,” which symbolizes the contributions of Black people from around the world and here at Indiana University. The Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center (NMBCC) chose this theme as a way to honor and celebrate the culture, beauty, creativity, intellect, and resilience of Black people everywhere. As one of the oldest Black culture centers in the nation, the NMBCC is proud to celebrate 50 years of power, progress, and promise. Join us in celebrating Black History Month 2020. Learn more about events and activities Queer Philanthropy Circle In its ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, Indiana University has launched the Queer Philanthropy Circle . This is the second affinity-giving circle established in the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs. It will use programs, resources, and other services to improve the recruitment, retention and degree attainment for LGBTQ+ students as well as improve the quality of professional life for LGBTQ+ faculty and staff on all IU campuses. Read the Full Story OVPDEMA Distinguished Inclusive Excellence Award This award recognizes individuals who actively promote diversity and inclusive excellence, dedicating themselves to making Indiana University a diverse, multicultural academic community that serves as a model for higher education, the state of Indiana, and society at large. View Award Recipients Scholarships Now Available We are currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year. Applicants may be students from any discipline or department on the Bloomington campus, and in some instances where indicated, applications may also be accepted from graduate or professional students. There are also select opportunities for IU students currently enrolled at any of the 7 IU campuses or 2 IU centers. All applicants must be enrolled as full-time students. US citizenship is not required, except where noted. You can apply here by March 10, 2020. Apply Today Diversity Assessments Indiana University engaged independent consulting firm Halualani & Associates to conduct diversity assessments for each of IU’s campuses. Along with graduation and retention reports, the firm made recommendations for subsequent action steps each campus as IU continues to strive for inclusive excellence.
